Working with our amazing client Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, we were asked to breathe a new lease of life into the NHS Dementia Ward.
Prior to starting this project, we understood the importance of the visual and textural features that the training room required in order to appeal to their patients diagnosed with Dementia. For this reason, we included the use of bright primary colours and incorporated the use of various textures that trigger the synopsis in the brain associated with memory.
Colour-coded bedding areas were developed and included a colourful geometric visual aid above each area. Within the room, we also designed and manufactured a Sensory Wall. This too provides multiple visual and textural aids to stimulate the brains of the patients and provide a positive experience that can also help to improve patients' memories.
We worked closely with our client as we always do, to meet their needs on the project. In this case, the project needed to be completed within a short timescale, so we worked with just one week of manufacturing and 3 days for the full installation.
We thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and continuing our working relationship with the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
